It’s a Wonderful Holiday Round Up: More marketing tips for the holidays

Think it’s too early to start thinking about the holidays? Think again!

It’s September and there are days when there’s a chill in the air and you know what that means... Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the holiday gift giving season is upon us!

If you know me IRL (in real life), you know it’s no secret that I love Halloween (and yes, I’ll be buying stuff and talking about it in July and August) but I also love the holiday season! Unlike Candace, I don’t love the winter, but I do love the Christmas lights, gift giving, holidays tv specials and movies, holiday treats and foods, and of course, all the holiday launches, holiday marketing, and the ads!

The holiday season is a massive time of celebration and not just for those for celebrating Christmas. So many of us gather to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, and other holidays and others use the time to take a break and spend their time with family and friends. Holiday marketing usually kicks off a few months before December so it’s certainly not too early to start planning right now.

To help you add more magic to your holiday marketing, I’ve chosen 4 of my favourite holiday blogs to help guide your holiday marketing this season!

P.S. Don’t forget to check out Candace’s 5 favourites for more holiday marketing tips here.

Holiday Marketing Checklist

SongBird Founder, Candace Huntly, developed this blog to help guide brands with their 2020 holiday marketing and even though it was written in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, it’s still relevant for those looking for guidance with their holiday marketing in 2022. I wanted to mention this first because I think it’s a great starting point for those who want to bring their marketing up a level this holiday season.

Start off on the right track with this holiday marketing checklist.

If you need ideas, this is a great place to start, so take out a pen and paper (or open a document on your computer) and start taking notes!

Sometimes, seeing what someone else has done, and particularly, what they’ve done right, can really help steer you in the right direction. It can help give you an idea of what works and it can inspire an idea within you.

This blog also includes a nod to Halloween, and as mentioned, I do love Halloween and it IS a holiday so don’t forget to check that part out, it could give you some ideas for next month's celebrations as well as the holidays!
