5 of my favourite creator accounts

I must admit that a lot of my social media use is kind of “window shopping.” I use it to look up stuff I’m interested in buying, or watch shop with me style videos. That being said, there are content creators I enjoy watching and because today is Social Media Day, it’s the perfect day to share some of my favourite creator accounts.

Humansofny (Instagram)

If you’re on Instagram, you’ve probably seen content from Humans of New York (HONY), but if you aren’t familiar with them, HONY was created by photographer Brandon Stanton. The account features portrait images of people from New York (and sometimes other places) as well as quotes from an interview with those featured. Sometimes stories/images will span across several posts and form a series. This account is one that gives me a range of emotions, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry, sometimes I might feel angry, and more - sometimes it’s several emotions if it’s a series!

There are also several Humans of New York books available now as well!

SlutsForFall (Instagram)

If you know me, then you know that I really love Fall, Halloween, and all things spooky - so this account is one near the top of my list. Sluts For Fall (SFF) shares upcoming news (like horror movie news), memes, movie/tv marathon playlist ideas, and more.

They also recently hit 100K followers on Facebook!

Saint Hoax(Instagram)

When I began following Saint Hoax, they quickly became one of my favourite accounts to follow on Instagram. The account, which was created by a Syrian artist and activist (who is currently only going by the pseudonym Saint Hoax), uses memes (usually in the format of a video) to satirise and to comment on world events, politics, popular culture, and more. They also use their platform to bring awareness to important issues (here’s an example).

I love that they mix news and commentary with humour and I think their 3.4 million followers would agree that their content is relevant, fresh, and engaging!

Bunny Meyer (YouTube)

If you were into beauty products around the mid-2010’s (especially if you watched beauty content on YouTube), then you’ve probably heard of Bunny Meyer. Bunny was probably one of the biggest beauty influencers on YouTube at the time and she was one of the first influencers that I remember collaborating with a major brand (she made her own collection with Tarte Cosmetics in 2016). Now, influencer marketing is bigger than ever and the beauty influencer community continues to grow - but she’s still hung around and continues to make content on various platforms.

I love a bunch of her content (which again spans several platforms and accounts), but my absolute favourites include her EPIC Halloween Treat Bag videos (which are goal-worthy for a Halloween lover like me).

Two of her channels that are my fav to follow on YouTube are here and here.

Javelllynton (tiktok)

Javell is a content creator that I first discovered on TikTok and I followed him immediately. He shares hauls, lifestyle content, and my personal fav - his “main character” and “because my life is a movie” content (here’s a peek at one of his videos).
