We’ve talked about the importance of having a digital presence and how often you post is an important factor. If you’re only posting once a month or a few times a year, you likely won’t gain much from being online. Consistency is important. 42% of consumers have purchased products based on them being created by small businesses
Since the pandemic, we have seen support for small business ramp up - and it’s not stopping. More and more consumers are choosing products made by small businesses, in fact, this number is up 8% since May 2022.
49% of Canadian consumers report that they actively seek out 2SLGBTQ+ businesses and 60% seek out BIPOC businesses
Consumers actively seek out businesses that resonate with them - whether it be values, culture, or something else. So it should come as no surprise that consumers are seeking out 2SLGBTQ+ businesses, BIPOC businesses, and more. If you are BIPOC or 2SLGBTQ+ owned, this is a great reminder to let people know! Share it in your “About Me” sections, your social media bios and hashtags, etc. There are so many people out there who want to support you, who want to see you win, and who will support you.
70% of consumers think it’s important for small businesses offer online payments
Are you selling through social media or your website yet? If not - maybe you should. Especially as we head into the hectic holiday shopping season. A whopping 70% of consumers think it’s important for small businesses to offer digital payment solutions, and if you’re not, you could miss out on a huge opportunity to increase your sales and increase your loyal customer base.
