3 ways entrepreneurs can immediately improve their marketing… right now

Improve marketing right now

We’re halfway through November and soon people will be talking about their resolutions and goals for the new year. As an entrepreneur, improving your marketing may be on your list of goals for 2023, but why wait?!

Here are 3 ways entrepreneurs can immediately improve their marketing right now (seriously, you can start as soon as you finish reading this blog):

Build relationships

There are many ways that you can start building relationships with your target audience and some of them are super easy, here are just a few ways:

  • Engage with your audience on social media by liking and commenting on posts shared by those you’re following.

  • Reply to comments you have received and to your direct messages.

  • Engage with creators – This can include engaging with or sharing their content. Engaging with influencers helps boost their engagement and by building a relationship with them, they can help act as an ambassador for your business and help to amplify your message.

If you have a bit more time, consider creating a loyalty program or a promo such as a friends and family sale/discount or a referral program. While you may not be able to put these into place right this instant, you can start working on these ideas now!

In 2018, 71% of consumers who had a positive experience with a brand on social media were likely to recommend the brand to their friends and family – so don’t underestimate the power of building a connection through social media!

Update and refine your online presence

Being online has become a huge aspect of marketing, even more so since early 2020. Although updating your online presence can be challenging and time consuming, there are some simple improvements you can make right now.

If you don’t have a website or if you aren’t on social media, you should take steps to ensure you have even a small online footprint. Creating a website or joining a social media platform will take a bit of time and effort – so if you’re just getting started, check out our blog for 5 things entrepreneurs should do before starting on social media and 4 Things to think about before doing digital marketing for your small business.

If you DO have a website or social media profile, here are a few quick and easy ways you can improve your marketing RIGHT NOW.

  • Boost (promote) a post – Meta (Instagram and Facebook), for example, makes it super simple to create an ad and they’ll guide you along the way. The process is also fairly quick. You don’t even need to make a huge investment; you can start with a few dollars a day. Boosting a post is something you can do to help reach your goals. For example, it can help boost your reach, which means more people will see your content or it can increase certain actions such as website visits.

  • Clean up your bio section – Have you looked at your bio sections on social media recently? While the section can be limited in terms of space, you should be including key details such as what you do/offer, important links (website link, appointment/booking links, online shop links, etc), a call-to-action, and more. Have multiple links you’d like to include? Try Linktree! By the way: Instagram is also rolling out the option to add multiple links to your bio, so you may be able to do that in the app already as well!

  • Include social media buttons on your website. If you have both a website and social media profiles but don’t have those profiles linked to your website, it’s time to update your website to include them! This makes it easier for people to find, follow, and engage with you online!

Hire a professional

We all have different resources and strengths, so if you don’t have the time or the know how to improve your marketing alone you can always hire a professional. Hiring the right person (or team) can really give your brand a much-needed boost. You can also hire someone for your specific needs, so whether you want to update your website, want someone to handle your social media, or tackle one of your other challenges, hiring a professional is a great option!

You can start right now by thinking about what your challenges may be, what areas you’d like to focus on, and what your budget is. Then we suggest researching and meeting with agencies and people you’re interested in learning more about. Want to meet with us? Book your FREE 20-minute consultation!
